Puzzles Save the Holidays

The school holidays start very soon and with them comes the long, hot summer full of bored kids.  Even I find it dull when it is too hot to go out and do things.

Children get bored easily so once the thrill of the Christmas presents is gone there can often be nothing for them to do.  It isn’t good for them to be plonked on the couch in front of the TV or Playstation for hours on end.  It really doesn’t stimulate the imagination at all.

To keep children focused and amused give them some puzzles to do.  Jig saw puzzles are great for shape recognition, hand eye co-ordination and persistance but they can also be too challenging and, eventually, a little dull.  Word and number puzzles are best for getting the brain going again.  Your kids are used to concentrating on words and numbers at school so they are comfortable with such puzzles.    They might learn some new words or even develop more confidence with numbers while doing something that is fun.

Crosswords For Fun has a quarterly subscription plan so why not try us out?  Join us for a summer of puzzles.  We have codewords, sudoku and word puzzles for all ages.  There is always something to get your children thinking.   We regularly have new puzzles so there will be something new to do each day.  Why not make it a family event or even a competition?  A little brain exercise is good for us all.

Oh yes, I should tell you that the solutions are there, too, so you can be chief judge and referee should the competition be that close!
