Games for the Brain – Perfect for Rainy Days!
Like many families, mine went on a camping holiday once a year at Christmas. Living in Australia, you tend to assume you are going to have good, hot, beach weather. I remember one year this was definitely not the case. It rained solidly for the first three days!
Although we not terribly impressed, we realised we just had to make the best of it. If you can’t swim or participate in your usual beach-related activities, what do you do? Play a game! Fortunately we had packed the favourite board games, the cards and the trusty crossword puzzle books, which led to hours of playing Scrabble, Monopoly and 500. It was a great way to have fun and spend quality time as a family. Isn’t that really what a family holiday is all about?

I love word games! A little girl I tutor loves word searches and sometimes I create word searches I can print out for her using the word turtle at funbrain.com.
