Get Your Brain into Gear with Trivia

By admin · Monday, January 4th, 2010

Welcome to 2010.  I hope this year is brilliant for you.  Have you made any plans for the year?  Don’t forget to plan for some brain training.  You know what life is like.  If you don’t schedule it in it won’t happen.  Book 30 minutes every day and do a crossword or play a game.  You will look forward to that time.

To get you started for the year I have two trivia quizzes for you to do.

The first one is here on our blog, in the side column.  Have you tried that?  It is free, fast and fun.  You will need to log in because it is an external quiz.   The idea is to answer the questions as quickly (and correctly) as you can.  Speed is of the essence!   You will get the best score from a fast and correct completion.  Just try it.  It is fun and the questions are not too hard.

Here is the second.  It is an Australiana Trivia Quiz.  The answers are below but no cheating is allowed!  (Thanks to the Australia Day Org for the questions)

1.  Australia has the world’s largest sand island. What is its name?
2.  In what city did the Commonwealth Parliament first sit?
3.  In what year was Advance Australia Fair proclaimed as the national anthem by the Governor-General?
4.  Who was the first Australian to win the Booker Prize?
5.  How many ships were in the First Fleet?
6.  In what year was gold first discovered in Victoria and NSW to begin the “Gold Rush”?
7.  What Australian movie includes the phrase “Tell him he’s dreaming”?
